We are gearing up for the Winter Workshop and are looking forward to "Continuing the Conversation" on ACTFL's High Leverage Teaching Practices!
The cost of this workshop is $10. You can pay on our website at the E-Shop or bring P.O., cash, check or card to the conference.
The Day of the Workshop:
8:30 a.m. Pre-registration and light breakfast
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. "High Leverage Teaching Practices: Continuing the Conversation".
Two sessions focusing on the first 3 High Leverage Teaching Practices and applying them to current classroom lessons and processing text through technology.
One of the sessions will be led by Dr. Joe Terantino (Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition & Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida). He is Assistant Professor of Foreign Language Education at Oklahoma State University. Prior to coming to OSU in 2018, he served as director of the Language Resource Center at Brown University. His expertise lies in foreign language teaching methodology, second language acquisition, instructional technology, and teaching English Language Learners
Participants should bring:
1. Your own laptop or tablet
2. A lesson you currently use that you would like to work/modify keeping the High Leverage Practices and Technology in mind
3. ACTFL's High Leverage Teaching Practices book (for reference)
