Alfred L. Gage Professional Service Award Deadline: Nominations should be submitted by February 1
The OFLTA Alfred L. Gage Professional Service Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to the foreign language teaching profession. Criteria for Selection
1. The recipient must have evidenced outstanding commitment and provided notable service to the foreign language teaching profession. 2. The recipient must be a resident of Oklahoma and an OFLTA member. Send written nominations using this form to

1. Nominations must be accompanied by statements which establish a clear rationale for the selection. 2. Nominations must be sent directly to the Awards Committee Chairperson (or submitted online). 3. The Awards Committee will review and rank the nominations. 4. Only the required form will be accepted. IMPORTANT: Nominations in excess of 10 pages (including the one-page form) will not be considered. Do not staple or place supporting documents in a binder or scrapbook. 5. Faxed forms will not be accepted. 6. At the direction of the Awards Committee, in consultation with the OFLTA Executive Board, the award may not be presented during a given year.
Administrative Directives 1. The Chairperson of the OFLTA Alfred L. Gage Professional Service Award is appointed by the OFLTA Executive Board. This chairperson, a non-voting member of the committee, shall solicit nominations and establish a selection committee. This committee shall include the chairperson, one other OFLTA Executive Board member, and 2-4 OFLTA members. The chairperson may vote only in the case of a tie. 2. Persons currently serving on the OFLTA Executive Board are not eligible to be nominated for this award. Deadline: Nominations must be submitted no later than February 1.
The award winner will be notified by, and will formally receive this award at, the OFLTA’s annual meeting.
